F&N Groove! Introducing: “Hit the Speed Limit” (Singapore Dance Delight Vol.2 Finalist)

Finalist “Speed Limit” of last year return as “Hit the Speed Limit”!

In this special edition blog entry of the F&N Singapore Dance Delight Vol.2, I’ll will be going behind the scene to do a coverage on one of the finalist, “Hit the Speed Limit“.

I’m sure some of you might have seen them performing recently at the Singapore Dance Delight Vol.2 Preliminaries at *Scape with their awesome popping moves.  However, there are so much more to find out about each of them.  Read on to find out!

Hit the Speed Limit” have been around for less than a year and the dance group consist of 3 members.   They are Marcus, 25, Ronald and Josh, both 20,  with a combine experience of 10 years in the local popping dance scene.

Marcus (right) is a teacher a Studio Wu and he was one of the finalist for Juste Debout Singapore 2010.  Ronald (left) is still serving their national service and have done well in prestigious competitions such as Floor The Love, R16, and many more.  Josh (center) is also serving the nation and have been focusing on improving his dance skills.

Popping, to them is more than just dancing and flaunting their moves.  All 3 of them used to be from different groups and crews.  By working together, their aim is to help the popping community in Singapore to be united no matter how separated the crews may be.  Thankfully to say, they are getting closer to their aim!

Here are some interesting facts about “Hit the Speed Limit“:-

  1. Marcus has a stage name of “Marzipan” which sounds like an animal but it’s the particular sweet he loves.  Fans out there, you know what to get for him now!
  2. When Josh started dancing, he needs to have a shades on because when dance, his eyes will be closed most of the time!  Looking closely to him in the finals if he still does that!
  3. Ronald may seem very well trained in popping but he started off as a Bboy and only began popping in the last 2-3 years!

In future, they hope to a truly “national” popping team by including new poppers into their team from different crews into one group.  Meanwhile, through their participation in the Singapore Dance Delight Vol.2 competition, they hope to encourage more popping teams to join in!

Let’s wish them all the best for the finals and do give them your support at the Wave House, Sentosa on the 12th of March (this Saturday) from 7 -11pm!!
